8 ‘Missing’ Heroines Of Kollywood!

Sometimes the film industry does take a toll over some of the most talented actors. These young talents who came in with a bang left us wondering why they have never been seen thereafter. Here’s a list of the 8 actors who have left Tamil industry and have never looked back since.

Maanu

The brown eyed beauty of the late 90’s, debuted opposite Ajith in Kadhal Mannan which turned out to be a blockbuster movie. Although her calm and composed performance in the movie was much appreciated by the critics, this ardent classical dancer did not wish to get deviated from her dancing career and refused to accept any further film offers. She then settled in Singapore after getting married to an oncologist. However the classic Unnai Paartha Pinbu Naan song which featured her definitely gained her a huge fan base in a short span.

Sherin Shringar

Sherin debuted into Tamil film industry alongside Dhanush in the film Thulluvadho Ilamai. The film which featured the mind-set of young school kids received mixed reviews among critics. Of all her other films which included Jaya, Student No.1, Whistle and Urchagam, her performance oriented role in Whistle was the most critically acclaimed. She was last seen in an item number with Vikram in Bheema after which she kept herself busy with films in other languages although she completely vanished from Kollywood.

Chaya Singh

This Kannada debutante migrated into Tamil films with Thiruda Thirudi alongside Dhanush. People might have forgotten her character in the film but will never forget her electrifying dance in the most popular kuthu number of all time, Manmada Raasa. Although her films did not do very well in the box office, her item numbers with Vijay and Vikram gave her the appeal of a dancing diva. She was last seen in the horror flick Aanandhapurathu Veedu after which she disappeared from silver screen and tried her luck in soap operas.

Richa Pallod

This award winning actress from Tollywood did not receive her much anticipated appreciation from her Tamil audience. She debuted along with Vijay in Shahjahan which was criticized to have had very little scope for the heroine. Her other films Alli Arjuna and Unnakum Ennakum irrespective of their success did not pave way for her to establish her acting skills. The child artist turned model has since been seen only in commercials.

Priya Gill

Her debut into the Tamil film industry was with Ajith in the movie, Red. Although her subtle girl-next-door performance in the film gained her quite some appreciation, that was the last we saw of her. She later did a few Hindi and Punjabi films after which she completely vanished from the film industry.

Amoga

The pretty actress attracted the Tamil audience with her charming looks and cute dance moves in her debut film alongside Madhavan in Jay Jay. Although the songs topped the chart, neither the film nor the performance of the actors received any note of appreciation. Amoga was last seen shaking a leg in the stylish item number with Jiiva in Kachcheri Aarambam. She later did a few Hindi films before completely disappearing from silver screen.

Richa Gangopadhyay

This talented actor gave back to back hits with Mayakkam Enna and Osthi. Her character in Mayakkam Enna was very challenging and she was widely appreciated for her role. She was last seen in Osthi opposite Simbu but her performance in her debut film was the most critically acclaimed. Richa later went on to do quite a few Telugu films after which she was nowhere to be seen.

Anuya Bhagwat

The model turned actress came to limelight with her debut film, SMS (Shiva Manasula Shakthi) opposite Jiiva. Despite of her bubbly acting in the film which won her a lot of appreciation, her luck in the film industry unexpectedly ran out quite soon. Some of her other films which included Madurai Sambavam  and Nagaram did not bear much scope for the characters she portrayed and has since left her unnoticed in the Tamil film industry. She was last seen in the sister role in Vijay starrer Nanban.
