Talvar

The movie is based on the Arushi Talvar murder case and the controversy that surrounded it, which shook the whole nation. It made for a great script as the case had so many twists and turns with so many differing versions on what happened that fateful night. The film put focus on realities like botched up investigations and how internal squabbles within the system can change the track of any case. We are made to feel sorry for the parents who had to deal with all that is wrong with the system, and for this reason the director, Meghna Gulzar, was criticised for taking a stand to portray the parents as innocent.  Irrfan Khan as the CBI investigator and Konkona Sen Sharma as Arushi’s mother delivered terrific performances which put the film on a higher mark.
