8 Binge Worthy Movies and Series On OTT That Released In October!

Ever since the lockdown began, OTT platforms have become famous and have made it easier for binge-watchers to watch movies and shows from home. On the other hand, various platforms are also releasing  a variety of  movies and series on their respective platforms. Here are 8 movies and Series that were released on OTT in October.

 

  • Sardar Udham:

Starring Vicky Kaushal, Shaun Scott, Amol Parashar and Banita Sandhu in prominent roles, Sardar Udham is an Indian epic biographical historical drama film based on the life story of Udham Singh Kamboj, a marxist freedom fighter from Punjab. The movie revolves around how Udham Singh shoots Micheal O’Dwyer, 20 years after the Jallainwala Bagh massacre as he was the governor of Punjab during the time. The movie, directed by Shoojit Sircar, has excellent picturisation and marks Vicky’s third biography.

  • Oh Manapenne:

Directed by Kaarthikk Sundar, the movie is the remake of Tharun Bhascker’s Pelli Choopulu. The remake stars Harish Kalyan and Priya Bhavani Shankar in lead roles. Oh Manapenne is a story revolving around Karthik (Harish Kalyan) and Shruthi (Priya Bhavani Shankar), who meet each other through a marriage alliance proposition, which we later realise is a mistake. How they both come together again for a business and how they unite, forms the rest of the story. The movie is a heartwarming rom-com and a decent remake.

  • Lift:

Starring Kavin and Amritha Iyer, Lift is a Tamil horror thriller film directed by Vineeth Varaprasad. The plot revolves around a routine working day that turns unusual for Guru and Harini when they get trapped in their haunted office. A patterned game unlocks a mystery, and a lift is their only way out. The movie is a nice take on a puzzling mystery and a horror at the same time.

  • Brahmam:

A remake of National award winning film, Andhadhun, Bhramam is a Malayalam black comedy crime thriller starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Unni Mukundan, Mamta Mohandas and Raashi  Khanna in lead roles. Directed by Ravi K Chandran, The plot follows a blind piano player who unwittingly becomes embroiled in the murder of a former film actor. The movie is the second remake of the original, while Maestro was the first in Telugu. The movie received a good reception amongst Kerala audiences.

  • Little Things 4:

Starring Mithila Palkar and Dhruv Sehgal in lead roles, Little Things is a romantic comedy streaming television series that first came out in 2016. Season 4 of the series came out recently and the plot of this season picks up from them reuniting after 14 months of not seeing each other. The series, directed by Ajay Bhuyan and Ruchir Arun, is loved by many for its realistic storyline about things that are bound to happen in a relationship.

  • Rashmi Rocket:

Directed by Akarsh Khuranna, Rashmi Rocket is a hindi sports drama film starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead and Priyanshu Painyuli and Abhishek Banerjee in supporting roles. The film follows the tumultuous journey of an athlete Rashmi Vira — from a Kutch village to an Asian champion — before she is banned due to the high amount of male hormone in her bloodstream, and is subjected to a humiliating gender test. The movie was appreciated for portraying a women centric movie the right way.

  • Kodiyil Oruvan:

Starring Music director and actor Vijay Anthony and Aathmika, Kodiyil Oruvan is a Tamil political action film directed by Ananda Krishnan. The story revolves around situations that push a common man to oppose an influential guy in his area and how he develops himself stronger to fight back his enemies forms the crux of the story. The movie was initially released in theatres and then on OTT.

  • Hum Do Humare Do:

Hum Do Hamare Do is a 2021 Hindi-language comedy drama film directed by Abhishek Jain starring Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal and Ratna Pathak Shah in the lead roles. Aparshakti Khurana, Manu Rishi and Prachi Shah feature in supporting roles. The movie is about a couple who are keen on adopting parents.
