Another mother based movie, Amma Kanakku saw Amala Paul in a role never before. Amala Paul plays the role of Shanti, a widowed, mother of a girl, servant maid. The movie concentrates on how the high school drop-out Shanti decides to go to school for the sake of her daughter’s education.
