5 Tamil Movies Releasing For Diwali 2021!

Movies play an important role in day-to-day life in the state of Tamil Nadu. Movies are a part of every occasion or celebration. The Kollywood industry has tuned its audiences to celebrate with movies just like we celebrate by wearing new clothes or eating sweets. One such tradition that Kollywood audiences are used to, is the release of movies during Diwali. Diwali feels incomplete for Tamil movie buffs without watching a good Rajini or Kamal film in the theatres. The pandemic has changed this tradition for the Tamil audiences because theatres have been closed for almost the past year. Now, with theatres reopening for Diwali, here are 5 films releasing in theatres and OTT for Diwali!

Annaatthe:

Directed by Siva, Annaatthe is Rajinikanth’s much awaited film which is to release on Diwali. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also stars Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Kushboo, Meena, and Prakash Raj. The movie revolves around Kaaliyan (Rajinikanth) who has to help and save his sister (played by Keerthy Suresh) in times of need. The movie has been bankrolled by Kalanithi Maaran and the music is composed by D Imman. The movie features the song ‘Annaatthe’, which is the last song sung by singer SP Balasubramanian. Rajinikanth fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the movie.

Jai Bhim:

Starring Suriya, Lijomol Jose, Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan and Prakash Raj, Jai Bhim is a legal drama, directed by T J Gnanavel. The movie revolves around the Irular Tribal community and the struggles they face as they are wrongly convicted for a crime. The movie is based on a true story in 1993, which involves a case fought by Justice K Chandru, it follows Sengani and Rajakannu, a couple from the Irular tribe. The latter was convicted by the police due, and was later missing from the police station. Senggeni seeks the help of an advocate Chandru to seek justice for her husband. The movie released on November 2nd on Amazon Prime and has been receiving great reception for its performances and storyline. The movie falls under the 2D Entertainment Banner.

Enemy:

Directed by Anand Shankar, Enemy is an action thriller starring Vishal, Arya, Mrinalini Ravi and Mamta Mohandas in lead roles. While the plot of the movie is not clear at the moment, the movie is all set to release in theatres on November 4th. It is produced by Vinod Kumar under the Mini Studios Banner and is releasing in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. The movie unites Arya and Vishal yet again after their last performance together in Avan Ivan.

MGR Magan:

Starring Sasikumar, Sathyaraj, Samuthirakani, Saranya Ponvannan and Mrinalini Ravi, MGR Magan is a masala film directed by Ponram. The movie is made purely for entertainment purposes and is bankrolled by Screen Scene Media Entertainment. It is all set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on November 4th. The story of the film revolves around a father-son duo in a South Indian village. The plot of the film features a man who tries to destroy a mountain in the village. This disturbs the normal life of villagers. The movie shows how the villagers unite to fight against the villain.

Vaa Deal:

Vaa Deal is a film that started pre-production back in 2014 and has been delayed several times due to various reasons. Starring Arun Vijay and Karthika Nair, the movie is directed by Rathina Shiva. An action thriller, the movie is all set to release in theatres on Diwali this year. While what the movie is about is unclear at the moment, we know that we’re in for an action thriller featuring Arun Vijay. The movie is being produced by Feather Touch Entertainment.
