5 South Movies Releasing on OTT and Theatres This Week!

Now that we have successfully tackled the Covid-19 virus, people have once again started flocking to theatres in large numbers. Filmmakers are also releasing their films in theatres and then releasing them on OTT platforms at a later date, to cater to both kinds of audiences. Even as theatre owners are starting to make business, here are 5 South Indian films releasing this week in theatres and on OTT! Choose your film and grab some popcorn!

1) Wonder Women:

Anjali Menon's 'Wonder Women' to release on November 18; trailer out - The  Hindu

Directed by Bangalore Days fame Anjali Menon, Wonder Women is an English language film starring an ensemble cast of Nadiya Moidu, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Nithya Menen, Padmapriya, Archana Padmini, Sayanora Phillip and Amruta Subhash. The movie revolves around six pregnant women who come to stay at ‘Sumana’, a prenatal class conducted by Nandita (Nadiya Moidu). She calls them ‘Real superheroes’ as they get ready to embrace motherhood. In their quest to know their new life, they discover their true identity and the answers to their deep-rooted problems. The movie looks like it may have an interesting take on motherhood and pregnancy. The movie is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua Sara. The movie will be available for streaming from 18th November, on Sony Liv.

 

2) Kalaga Thalaivan:

Starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Kalaiyarasan, Arav and Nidhhi Aggerwal in lead roles, Kalaga Thalaivan is a Tamil action-thriller directed by Magizh Thirumeni. The movie revolves around Thirumaran (Udhayanidhi Stalin), a financial analyst who swiftly climbs up the corporate ladder. Soon, his world is turned upside down as he is confronted by a mysterious deadly group led by a brutal killer. Throughout the story, we see how he copes with the situation. Udhayanidhi Stalin also produced the movie under his Red Giant Movies banner. The film’s music and scored by Srikanth Deva and Arrol Corelli, with cinematography handled by K. Dilraj and editing done by N. B. Srikanth. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on 18 November 2022.

 

3) Anel Meley Pani Thuli:

Directed by R Kaiser Anand, Anel Meley Pani Thuli is a Tamil film starring Andrea Jeremiah and Aadhav Kannadasan in lead roles. The movie is produced by Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Film Company. The trailer reveals that the movie is about sexual abuse or rape. How the protagonist deals with the situation after she is sexually abused forms the crux of the story. Kaiser Anand is making his directorial debut with this movie the music will scored by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography by Velraj. The movie will be available for streaming on Sony Liv from 18th November.

 

4) Yugi:

Yugi is an upcoming Tamil movie scheduled to be released on November 18, 2022. The movie is directed by Zac Harriss and features Kathir, Anandhi, Narain and Pavithra Lakshmi as lead characters. Other popular actors who were roped in for Yugi are Athmeeya Rajan, Prathap Pothen and Namo Narayanan. The crime thriller film revolves around a cops attempt to find a missin woman with a strange past. The movie can be watched in theatres from Friday!

 

5) Sardar:

Sardar Movie Review: Karthi Starrer Is Smart But Is Also Muddled With  Multiple Miscalculated Messes/Misses!

Starring Karthi, Raashi Khanna, Muneeshkanth, Chunky Pandey in lead roles, Sardar is an spy-thriller directed by PS Mithran. The film was previously released in theatres for Diwali. Produced by S. Lakshman Kumar under the banner of Prince Pictures, the movie’s music was composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with cinematography doned by George C. Williams and film edited by Ruben. The movie performed farely well in theatres, and is now all set to be released on OTT. This film is a depiction of contrast between father and son’s beliefs. The son, a police officer, believes that any deed of his should be broadcasted whereas the father, an intelligence officer, spent thirty two years in a prison for the greater good. The movie will be availbale for streaming on Aha from November 18th.
