OTT has become a boon for all of us who are too lazy to visit the theatres to watch the movie. Nothing like watching a movie at home on our comfortable sofa or bed with snacks and a blanket on. We have the comfort of pausing and taking loo breaks whenever we feel like it. Post-COVID, all films that are being released in theatres are also available later on for streaming online on one or another OTT platform. Well, if you want to know what’s releasing on OTT this week, here’s a list of 4 films!
1. Kantara:
Produced under the banner of KGF fame Hombale Films, Kantara is a Kannada language action thriller directed by Rishab Shetty. The film stars Shetty as a Kambala champion, who comes to loggerheads with an upright DRFO officer, Murali (Kishore). Achyuth Kumar and Sapthami Gowda feature in supporting roles. The movie was released in Kannada on 30th September 2022. The movie fared really well in the Kannada language and was then re-released in various other regional languages. Interestingly, Rishab Shetty has not only directed this man vs. nature film but has also done a dual role. The movie was praised by almost all leading actors of the South including Actor Rajinikanth. The movie will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime from 24th November.
2. Padavettu:
A Malayalam action-thriller film, Padavettu starring Nivin Pauly and Aditi Balan in lead roles is directed by debutant director Liju Krishna for Yoodlee films. Sunny Wayne Productions has also produced the film. The film, also starring, Meera Jasmine, Manju Warrier and Shammi Thilakan depict the story of the oppressed section of society in North Kerala. While the cinematography was handled by Deepak D. Menon, editing was done by Shafique Mohamed Ali and Music was composed by Govind Vasantha. The movie is all set to release on Netflix on 25th November.
3. Prince:
Directed by Anudeep KV, Prince is a Tamil Romantic Drama starring Sivakarthikeyan and newbie Mariya Ryaboshapka in lead roles. The movie’s plotline goes something like this; A teacher falls in love with a young British woman who works as an English teacher at the same school. He tries to woo her, leading conflicts that come crashing on them as they face the biggest battle of their lives – to get married. The music for the film is composed by Thaman and cinematography is handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and is edited by Praveen KL. The movie also stars Sathyaraj and Premgi Amaren in supporting roles. You can watch the movie on Disney+ Hotstar from 25th November.
