16 Years Of Trisha: A Look At The Actress’ 2018!

Some lows, many highs!

Trisha has been the queen of box office numbers in South Indian film industry! She has been reigning Tamil and Telugu industry for the past decade! They are yet to find a replacement for the kind of film revenue she has generated over the years! Let’s turn pages to see how this Chennai beauty transformed herself into a gorgeous diva!

She started off her career in 2002. She was first approached by Priyadarshan for Lesa Lesa, but the project got delayed and the first movie which released was Aamir’sMounam Pesiyadhe opposite Surya in 2002. The movie was an instant hit with a different storyline! Her delayed movies Enakku 20, Unnaku 18 and Lesa Lesa released after the blockbuster hit Saamy in which Trisha starred opposite Vikram.

Soon enough, the actress shifted towards doing other popular movies such as Ghilli starring opposite Vijay, Mani Ratnam’s Ayutha Ezhuthu opposite Siddharth, Something Something, Unnakum Ennakum in 2006, to other big films. By playing the lead character ‘Jessie’ in Gautam Menon’s Vinnaithandi Vaaruvaya, she set the box office records on fire! It was sort of a breakthrough role for her as the character was nothing like what she had portrayed before.

However, over the years, while she starred in some hits and many flops, the year 2018 will still be a memorable one for her.

Here are four of her best 2018 moments:

When she made her Mollywood debut

Many a movie have come and gone, touching upon the stigma of mental illness. When the lead pair both suffer from them, one would expect a bore fest; however, Hey Jude comes through, although at a slow pace, to be the feel-good film that it is. A laidback movie, the story does not involve itself in showing the depth of characters for us to invest a lot in, which is unlikely for a movie on mental illness. The best part is, Trisha didn’t ham it up in this film neither did she underplay it. She owned each scene even though it was a debut and effortlessly played a lead character with so many layers to her.
