10 Binge Worthy Movies On OTT That Released In September!

Ever since the lockdown began, OTT platforms have become famous and have made it easier for binge-watchers to watch movies and shows from home. On the other hand, various platforms are also releasing  a variety of  movies and series on their respective platforms. Here are 10 movies that were released on OTT in September.

 

  • Tughlaq Durbar:

Starring Vijay Sethupathi, Parthiban, and Raashi Khanna, Tughlaq Durbar is a Tamil political drama Television film directed by Debut Director Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan. The movie first premiered on Sun TV, on Ganesh Chathurthi. The story revolves around a budding politician who has devious plans to rise in the ranks – until an unexpected new presence begins to interfere with his every crooked move. The performances of Vijay Sethupathi and Parthiban were appreciated.

  • Tuck Jagadish:

Directed by Shiva Nirvana, Tuck Jagadish is a Telugu Family Drama movie starring Nani and Ritu Varma in lead roles, and Nasser, Jagapathi Babu and Aishwarya Rajesh in supporting roles. The story starts after the unexpected death of their father, an older brother turns against his younger brother to inherit his property. The younger brother tries to reunite their family and carry on his father’s legacy. This movie received mixed reception as it was enjoyed by commercial movie lovers, but was criticised for the storyline.

  • Bell Bottom:

With Akshay Kumar as the lead and Lara Dutta, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi playing extended cameos, Bell Bottom Hindi Action spy-thriller film. Directed by Ranjit M Tiwari, the movie talks about an undercover agent code-named Bellbottom who embarks on a covert mission to free 210 hostages held by hijackers.The movie was released in theatres in August and then was also released on OTT.

  • Anabelle Sethupathi:

Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu, Anabelle Sethupathi is a Tamil comedy-horror film directed by Deepak Sundarrajan. It was dubbed and released in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada under the same title, and the Hindi dubbed version is titled Annabelle Rathore. It additionally stars, Jagapathi Babu, Raadhika, Devadarshini, Chetan and Jangri Madhumitha in supporting roles. The movie is set first in 1948, where Kadhiresan visits a palace built by King Veera Sethupathi. Kadhiresan wishes for such a magnificent palace for himself, but does not want a duplicate of the palace. Later, In 1966, Kadhiresan’s niece lives in the palace with her husband and daughter, who fear that the palace is haunted.

  • Maestro:

A remake of National award winning film, Andhadhun, Maestro is a Telugu black comedy crime thriller starring Nithiin, Nabha Natesh and Tamannah in lead roles. The plot follows a blind piano player who unwittingly becomes embroiled in the murder of a former film actor. The film is directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and is one of the first remakes of the original Andhadhun. The movie received good reviews in the Tollywood world.

  • Ankahi Kahaniya:

Directed by Abhisehk Chaubey, Saket Chaudhary and Ashwiny Iyer, Ankahi Kahaniya is a Hindi film starring Abishek Banerjee, Kunal Kapoor and Zoya Hussain, among others. As  big city life buzzes around them, lonely souls discover surprising sources of connection and companionship in three tales of love, loss and longing. The movie is like an anthology with three interconnected stories of love and longing.

  • Sunny:

A Malayalam musical drama, Sunny stars Jayasurya, Sshivada and Mamta Mohandas in lead roles. Directed by Ranjith Sankar, Sunny is about a failed musician, who seeks solitude with his memories keeping him company. As he struggles to recover his confidence, composure and his music, his family, friends and colleagues flit in and out of his thoughts. This movie marks Jayasurya’s 100th movie. The movie shows the post-pandemic world.

  • Naduvan:

Directed by Sharran Kumar, Naduvan is a Tamil action-thriller starring Bharath and Aparna Vinod in lead roles. The film revolves around a happy couple Karthik and Madhu with their young daughter. Shiva is a partner in Karthik’s tea factory. Guru, a worker in the factory comes to know about a secret involving Shiva and Madhu. He is threatened. Meanwhile a sequence of events leads to Karthik waiting for an opportunity to take revenge on his wife and partner. The movie received mixed reviews with appreciation for its storyline and a few criticisms for its screenplay.

  • Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum:

Starring Ramya Pandian, Vani Bhojan and debutante, Mithun Manickam, the movie is a Tamil drama film directed by Arisil Moorthy. The movie, which is produced by 2D entertainment, talks about a village which is breaking news in all television channels in India, but the people of the village don’t have the electricity to watch Television.

  • Thalaivi:

Starring Kangana Ranaut, Thalaivi is an Indian biographical film that follows the life of ex-Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa. The movie, directed by A.L. Vijay, has Aravind Swamy, Nasser, Samuthirakani in supporting roles. The movie first had a theatrical release, and then was released on Netflix in Hindi alone. The movie is also set to release on Amazon Prime in all languages. The much awaited movie received a good box-office reception.
