Wonder Women:
Wonder Women is an Indian English-language film directed by Anjali Menon for producers Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua Sara, starring Nadiya Moidu, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Sayanora Philip, Archana Padmini and Amruta Subhash in the lead roles. Though the film was made in English language, it has touches of Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Marathi languages. The movie revolves around five pregnant ladies who come to stay at ‘Sumana’, a prenatal class conducted by Nandita (Nadiya Moidu). She calls them ‘Real superheroes’ as they get ready to embrace motherhood. In their quest to know their new life, they discover their true identity and the answers to their deep-rooted problems. The movie received good reviews and was appreciated for establishing ideas of sisterhood and solidarity.

Sardar:
Starring Karthi, Raashi Khanna, Muneeshkanth, and Chunky Pandey in lead roles, Sardar is a spy thriller directed by PS Mithran. The film was previously released in theatres for Diwali. Produced by S. Lakshman Kumar under the banner of Prince Pictures, the movie’s music was composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with cinematography done by George C. Williams and the film edited by Ruben. The movie performed fairly well in theatres and is now all set to be released on OTT. This film is a depiction of the contrast between father and son’s beliefs. The son, a police officer, believes that any deed of his should be broadcasted whereas the father, an intelligence officer, spent thirty-two years in prison for the greater good.

Anal Meley Pani Thuli:
Directed by R Kaiser Anand, Anel Meley Pani Thuli is a Tamil film starring Andrea Jeremiah and Aadhav Kannadasan in lead roles. The movie is produced by Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Film Company. The trailer reveals that the movie is about sexual abuse or rape. How the protagonist deals with the situation after she has been sexually abused forms the crux of the story. Kaiser Anand is making his directorial debut with this movie the music will be scored by Santhosh Narayanan and the cinematography by Velraj. The movie will be available for streaming on Sony Liv from 18th November.

Kantara:
Produced under the banner of KGF fame Hombale Films, Kantara is a Kannada language action thriller directed by Rishab Shetty. The film stars Shetty as a Kambala champion, who comes to loggerheads with an upright DRFO officer, Murali (Kishore). Achyuth Kumar and Sapthami Gowda feature in supporting roles. The movie was released in Kannada on 30th September 2022. The movie fared really well in the Kannada language and was then re-released in various other regional languages. Interestingly, Rishab Shetty has not only directed this man vs. nature film but has also done a dual role. The movie was praised by almost all leading actors of the South including Actor Rajinikanth.

Kaiyum Kalavum:
Starring Sanchana Natarajan, Rohit, Madonna Sebastian, Ramya Nembeesan, Karu Palaniyappan and many others, Kaiyum Kalavum drama streaming television web series written and directed by Roju. Produced by Kalyan Subramanian and Presented by Karthik Subbaraj under his banner Stone Bench films. Chinmayi and Bobby Simha have lent their voices to be narrators of the series. Music and background score was composed by Sundaramurthy KS and songs by Satish Raghunathan Cinematography was handled by Sandeep K Vijay and editing was done by Manikandan B and Radha Sridhar. The series was reviewed to be a good watch and a well-thought entertainer.

Monica O My Darling:
Monica, O My Darling is a 2022 Hindi-language neo-noir crime comedy thriller film directed by Vasan Bala. The film stars Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte. The movie was adapted from the 1989 Japanese novel Burutasu No Shinzou (Eng: Heart of Brutus) by Keigo Higashino. The story revolves around a young man who desperately tries to make it big with some unlikely allies and a dastardly diabolical plan to pull off the perfect murder. The film received positive reviews from critics who praised the film’s direction, cast performances (particularly Rajkummar Rao and Huma Qureshi), visual style, humour, background score, and homages to the vintage crime films in Hindi cinema but some critics were critical of the film’s latter half.

Meet Cute is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language Anthology Drama streaming television series written and directed by debutant Deepthi Gantao. The series stars Ashwin Kumar, Ruhani Sharma, Sathyaraj, Aakanksha Singh, Shiva Kandukuri, Adah Sharma and Sanchitha Poonacha in lead roles. Vijay Bulganin composed the music and is produced by Nani and Pranshanthi Tipirneni under the ‘Wall Poster Cinema banner. Charming first encounters lead to new experiences and pleasant discoveries in this heart-warming anthology series. Swathi, Saru, Padma, Shalini and Anjana’s meet-cutes open them up to a whole new perspective on life. The series was very well received by critics and appreciated by the audience.

Kumari is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language mythological fantasy film written and directed by Nirmal Sahadev, featuring Aishwarya Lekshmi in the titular role. It also features Shine Tom Chacko and Surabhi Lakshmi in supporting roles. The film is produced by Giju John, Nirmal Sahadev, Sreejith Sarang and Jakes Bejoy under the banner The Fresh Lime Sodas. Abraham Joseph is the cinematographer of the film, while Jakes Bejoy has composed the songs. Kumari is co-produced by Aishwarya Lekshmi, Priyanka Joseph and Mridhula Pinapala. The story revolves around a naive Kumari who is married off far from home in Kanhirangat, beyond Illymala, in the west. When she arrives in the cursed land, she finds the people ready to sacrifice their lives to preserve tradition and power.

Chhello Show also called The Last Film Show, is a 2021 Indian Gujarati-language coming-of-age drama film directed by Pan Nalin. It stars Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Shrimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Raval and Paresh Mehta. The film premiered at the 20th Tribeca Film Festival on 10 June 2021 and was theatrically released in India on 14 October 2022. This film was selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards. Nine-year-old Samay (Bhavin Rabari) from Chalala, a village in Saurashtra, Gujarat, India spends an entire summer watching films, from the projection booth of a rundown movie place, by bribing the projectionist – Fazal (Bhavesh Shrimali). He is absolutely mesmerized by films and filmmaking, to the point that he decides to become a filmmaker, unaware of the heartbreaking times that await him.
