Birthday Special: A Look at Hansika over the Years!

From Hindi serials to Kollywood!

Hansika Motwani turns 27, and the actress has come a long way from being a popular child artist to now a known South Indian actress mostly doing commercial roles. She started off as a child artist starring in the Hindi series Shaka Laka Boom Boom. Few TV series and Hindi films later, she finally made a South Indian debut along with a Hindi debut too.

Hansika starred in 6 Hindi series as a child

 

Hansika was a popular face in various Hindi channels during mid-2000s. She starred in soap operas such as Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chaand, Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Shaka Laka Boom Boom, Son Pari, Karishma Ka Karishmaa, and a fun TV series only starring her in a double role called Hum 2 Hain Na.

 

She starred in 5 Hindi films as a child artist

She played a child rape victim in Jaago, an intense role that earned her praises as a child. She also played Hrithik Roshan’s friend in Koi Mil Gayaa.

 

Her first role as a lead actress was with Allu Arjun

 

The Telugu film Desamuduru was her first as a lead actress and starring Allu Arjun, who was still an upcoming hero at the time. The film even earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

 

 

Her first Hindi film as an actress was composer Himesh Reshammiya’s debut too

 

She was 17 at the time and her role even earned her a Best Female Debut nomination at the Filmfare Awards that year.

 

 

She has only done one Kannada film ever

 

Bindaas was her first and only Kannada film till date where she starred with Puneet Rajkumar. The film was released a year after her other debuts Aap Ka Suroor and Desamuduru.

 

 

She made her Tamil debut with Mappillai

 

The film was a remake of the 1989 film of the same name, which itself was a remake of Telugu film Attaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu. While the film earned mixed reviews, Hansika was noticed and went on to feature in two other Tamil films including Engeyum Kaadhal and Velayudham that same year.

 

 

She has three films this year

 

She has Thuppakki Munai, 100 with Atharva Murali, and a solo starring one in the pipeline which will be her 50th film.
