Titled Seema Raja, the actress revealed to Deccan Chronicle about her role in the film.
“I am playing a typical village girl attired in ‘paavadai dhaavani’ and it’s a fun-filled entertainer and full-fledged commercial Siva-Ponram kind of films. I learnt Silambam for this film and I have swirled the stick for some of the action sequences,” she said.
Silambam has featured in other Tamil films such as Pattikada Pattanama, Periya Idathu Penn, Thevar Magan, Rickshawkaran, Maattukara Velan, Thanikattu Raja, and various other films.
After Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan, this film marks the third collaboration between Ponram and Sivakarthikeyan. The shooting began last year with major portions canned in Thenkasi. The film, said to be a rural entertainer, also stars Simran Bagga and comedian Soori. Cinematographer Balasubramaniem will crank the camera, with composer D Imman on board for music. The film is slated for a summer release this year.
Samantha has, in the past, shared images and videos of her gearing up for the film.
Apart from this, she has Super Deluxe and the Tamil and Telugu remake of the Kannada film U-Turn in the pipeline.
