Wonder Women Trailer: Anjali Menon introduces us to ‘Real Superheroes’!

Release Date Out!

A week ago Parvathy Thiruvothu, Nithya Menen and Padmapriya took the Internet by storm by posting photos of their positive pregnancy test kits. However, almost immediately fans guessed that the post was most probably just a film promotion. Much to the guess of Netizens, these actors took to Instagram with this creative campaign to promote their upcoming film ‘Wonder Women’. This film is directed by none other than our Bangalore Days fame Anjali Menon. And because of this factor, this movie has become a more talked about one.

Parvathy took to her Instagram yesterday to announce that the trailer of the film will be released today (November 3rd) at 11 am. She also announced that the movie will be available to stream on Sony LIV on November 18th. Thanking everyone for the overwhelming support for the film’s promos, Anjali Menon herself said that the shooting for the English language film has already been completed.  The movie is backed by RSVP films and Flying Unicorn Entertainment. Nadiya Moidu, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Nithya Menen, and Padmapriya are playing prominent roles in the film.

The trailer was released today as promised and it showcased Nithya Menen, Parvathy, Padmapriya and Nadiya in prominent roles. From the trailer, we know that the movie is about pregnant women who have all come to Nanditha (Nadiya) for prenatal classes. They all seem to come from various backgrounds and also look like women who have made different choices that suit their respective lives. Nithya Menen plays Nora, while Parvathy plays a single-mother Mini. Padmapriya plays Veni, a character who brings her mother-in-law to the classes. Archana Padmini plays Gracy, who is expecting her second child, Amruta Subhash plays Jaya from a seemingly conventional set-up, and Sayanora plays Saya, who lives in with her partner in Goa.

While Anjali Menon has written the script, the movie’s technical crew includes cinematographer Manesh Madhavan, editor Praveen Prabhakar, music composer Govind Vasantha and sound designer Rajakrishnan. Anjali Menon is known for Bangalore Days and Koode, both wholesome and heartwarming films. She is also the screenwriter for Dulquer Salmaan’s Ustad Hotel. Her filmmaking portfolio also includes Manjadikuru and the ‘Happy Journey’ segment from Kerala Cafe. On the work front, Nithya Menen was last seen in Thiruchitrambalam alongside Dhanush. She is now working on Aaram Thirukalpana and The Iron Lady in which she will be playing the role of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. She is also awaiting the release of the third season Breathe: Into The Shadows and is working on Kumari Srimathi. Parvathy, on the other hand, was last seen in Puzhu and is now working on Her, Ullozhukku and Thangalaan. Padmapriya was last seen in Oru Thekkam Thallu Case and is now awaiting the release of this film.
