“Why are there restrictions for women? I feel it’s wrong.”: Nayanthara Opens Up About Marriage and Motherhood!

Strong words!

Nayanthara is all set and ready to see the release of her film Connect which is releasing in theatres tomorrow. Ahead of its release, she attended a Celebrity Premiere of the film on Monday at Krishnaveni Cinemas, Chennai. She has also given an interview with popular host DD. In the interview, she opened up about marriage and motherhood.

She thanked her support system, Vignesh Shivan, their baby boys and family. The O2 actress said, “Why are there restrictions for women? I feel it’s wrong. Why is it a topic that women can’t work after marriage? Men go to the office the next day after weddings. Marriage is not an interval point. It makes you fulfilled and settled in life. When you feel that, you want to achieve more. I saw that mindset in all the women I have met so far. Nothing has changed for me. It is a beautiful beginning of a new phase of life. My life is only better because of my support system. I can achieve more, understand films better and do more. There should not be any rules. Marriage is beautiful. Why can’t you celebrate it?”

In an interview recently, Vignesh Shivan opened up about his babies and his wife. He has said that he still cannot believe that he is the father of two sons and right now he is in a different world with his wife and kids. He added that he enjoys spending a lot of time with his offspring who are the greatest blessings in his life.

It has been quite the year for the Director-Actress couple Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara. Earlier this year, the Director saw the release of his fourth film, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal, which starred Nayanthara as one of the leads. Then the couple announced their wedding, which then took place in June in Mahabalipuram. Even as their wedding talk came to a quiet, the Director took the public by surprise when he announced that the couple has embraced parenthood with the birth of their twin sons. Unfortunately, the couple received more criticism and controversy than congratulations for the birth of their sons.

On the work front, Nayanthara was last seen in Gold in Malayalam and is awaiting for Connect. Connect is a horror thriller film helmed by Ashwin Saravanan. The movie also stars Haniya Nafisa, Anupam Kher, Sathyaraj, and Vinay Rai in important roles.
