When Young Thala Ajith Wrote The Most Romantic Love-Letters To Actress Heera And How Their Love Crumbled!

To be young and in love!

Thala Ajith is everyone’s favourite today. He is a loving husband, a doting father and a terrific actor with a larger than life fanbase. The actor’s onscreen charm and charisma is noteworthy and he is dearly loved and appreciated for his kind-heartedness. But when young Thala was struck by love for the first time, he was the ultimate romantic.

The Viswasam actor was once-upon-a-time in love with yesteryear actress Heera Rajagopal. The couple was deeply and madly in love with each other. In fact, they had even been very open about their relationship in the public. During a recent media interaction, actor and entertainment journalist Bayilvaan Ranganaathan said that throughout the 1990s, Thala Ajith entertained the audience with a lot of hit films but his relationship with Heera was equally most talked about.

They fell in love during the shooting of their first film together, Kathal Kottai. Reportedly, the actor wrote letters to her on the sets. They shared screenspace yet again in their second and last film ‘Thodarum‘.

Bayilvan Ranganaathan had read one of the love letters of the former couple further stating that Heera’s mother was against their marriage as she didn’t want her daughter’s career to get affected at a very young age. The official reason behind their breakup is still not clear but reportedly, Ajith was not happy with Heera’s changed behaviour towards him.

Ajith then met Shalini on the sets of Amarkalam and the couple was inseparable then on. They tied the knot in the year 2000 and have two kids Anoushka and Aadvik.

Shalini and Ajith tied the knot the same year in a star-studded ceremony. Post her wedding, Shalini decided to quit acting. “I enjoyed acting but Ajith was more tempting. I had no qualms about quitting. I am not the kind of person who could manage a home and an acting career. I was very clear about my priorities and it is very peaceful,” Shalini shared in a 2009 interview with JFW magazine.
