Asoka is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language epic historical drama film directed and co-written by Santosh Sivan. It is a dramatised version of the early life of emperor Asoka, of the Maurya dynasty, who ruled most of the Indian subcontinent in the 3rd century BCE. It starred Bollywood actors Sharuk Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Harshitaa Bhaat and our very own Thala Ajith Kumar. The movie is said to have been Ajith’s only Hindi movie. After this he did a single cameo appearance in Sri Devi’s English Vinglish.
The Video was posted by Shah Rukh Khan’s production company. They shared a short video of Thala Ajith from his only Hindi film Ashoka also starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. In the movie Ajith plays the role of Shah Rukh’s elder half-brother Susima Maurya.
The video has ever since gone viral with several fans reposting it all over social media.

On a professional front Ajith was shooting for Valimai, before the lockdown was imposed to curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. The Shoot of Valimai has been postponed and it is said that the actor has instructed the team not to resume the filming soon.
Directed by H Vinoth, the film also stars Huma Qureshi and has been produced by Boney Kapoor. Ajith will be seen sporting the role of cop in the film.
