Vivek Oberoi has been under the limelight for quite sometime now. He was dragged into the news for doning the role of Narendra Modi in the Modi biopic. He is now a part of this controversy for taking a dig at his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Earlier the actor posted a picture or as the social media addresses it, a meme of the list of men his ex-girlfriend dated. But, not just that, one of the pictures even had the actress’ daughter Aaradhya in it.

He posted: “Haha! creative! No politics here….just life.”

 

We wonder, what was funny about dragging a successful woman and her 7-year-old daughter into classless memes like these for the sake of it. This is utterly disgusting and a condemning act by the actor. As a citizen and a public figure, one needs to realise the roles and responsibilities that come along with it.

Vivek Oberoi had an absolutely distasteful response to Sonam’s comment too. He stated, “Stop overacting in your films and stop overreacting on social media. I’ve been working in women empowerment for 10 years now. I don’t think this is hurting anyone’s sentiments.”

But, that did not stop, Singer Chinmayi responded to Vivek’s post too:

Vivek Oberoi however stated that it was a “laughable meme” and that “those who were involved in it did not say anything to it.

And, we’re again wondering if that gives him the audacity to put the actress’ personal life at stake.

Finally, the actor decided to apologise on social media. He stated, “Sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls, I cant even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever.”

He further added, “Even if one woman is offended by my reply to the meme, it calls for remedial action. Apologies. tweet deleted.”
