Veteran actress Jayaprada who was a popular lead actress in Telugu and Hindi cinema in the 70s and 80s recently spoke up about how she endured a lot of mental distress when pictures of her were morphed and went viral. The actress-turned-politician spoke of how photos of her morphed with Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh and the flak she received.

“Amar Singh was on dialysis and my morphed pictures were being circulated in the region. I was crying and saying I don’t want to live anymore, I want to commit suicide. I was going through that trauma and no one supported me,” she said, as quoted in PTI. She was speaking at the Queensline Literature Festival in Mumbai.

These pictures also had her receiving threats from Samajwadi Party legislator Azam Khan who threatened to throw acid.

Jayaprada hasn’t been acting much lately. She starred in the Tamil film Keni last year. She will be starring in a few Telugu films soon.
