One of the most versatile and talented actors of Bollywood, Padma-Shri Om Puri passed away at his home in Mumbai early morning today. He died of heart attack and was found dead by one of his family members.
His rose to fame with ‘Ardh Satya’ and ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’ and has also won National award. Om Puri studied in Pune at the prestigious Film and Television Institute. He was one of the most critically-acclaimed actors of the industry.
Prime Minister Modi and many other Bollywood stars have expressed grief over his death.
Om Puri was born in Haryana in 1950 and has been in the news for stained relationship with his ex-wife. Reports suggest, he came back home last night post a shoot and passed away before sunrise.
