Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, known for her performances in movies like Podaa Podi, Vikram Vedha and Nibunan, was last seen in the Tamil movie Chasing. Latest buzz about the actor is that she has been roped in Samantha’s next ‘Yashoda’. This Pan-Indian film is directed by the director duo Hari and Harish.

Produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, Samantha started shooting for the film recently. Varalaxmi has been roped in for a pivotal role in the film and she has apparently already joined the sets of the film. The film’s shooting is expected to be completed by March 2022. If the reports are to be believed, this is the first time Varalaxmi and Samantha will be working together.

The film is expected to be a new-age thriller releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. Mani Shankar and M Sukumar are handling Music and Cinematography for the movies, respectively.

Varalaxmi, daughter of Sarathkumar, entered the industry in 2012 with Vignesh Shivan’s Podaa Podi. She has acted in almost 20+ films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, put together. She is currently filming for 5 films including Colors and Lagaam. She is also awaiting the release of a few of her films.

Meanwhile, Samantha has finished shooting for both Shaakuntalam and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal and is awaiting the release of both. She was last seen in ‘Jaanu’, the Telugu remake of the Tamil movie ’96. Her special song in Pushpa: The Rise has released and is also facing controversies.
