Vijay Sethupathi has been confirmed to play the villain to Vijay’s hero, marking his second negative role opposite a superstar in two years after Petta with Rajnikanth. Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi will reportedly start this filming period 10 days after the Pongal festival and will wrap up by the end of January, making it a relatively short but intensive timeframe. Shooting will be based in Chennai, and would most likely be a continuation of the previous filming that was wrapped up earlier in Shimoga.
Master promises to be a major title with a star-studded team working to complete it for its scheduled release for 9th April 2020. Malavika Mohanan, who in 2019 was also seen in Petta, will be the female lead, along with Antony Varghese, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Sriman, Srinath and Sanjeev playing crucial parts. Anirudh Ravichander has been tasked with composing the soundtrack for the movie.
Master looks like Vijay’s solitary movie this year; however, Vijay Sethupathi has a further 9 titles that are scheduled to release sometime in 2020. This includes his Bollywood debut in the Aamir Khan starrer Lal Singh Chaddha, a remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump, in which he will play a pivotal role.
