Industrialist and former producer Varun Manian was stabbed by two guys supposed to be electricians in an elevator inside his office building in Nandanam. The accused, Balamurugan and Muthukumar tried to get into the elevator by stopping it using their legs and had a heated argument with Varun Manian.

According to reports, Trisha’s ex-fiance was brutally assaulted by the accused with a screwdriver. Fortunately, he sustained injuries. Varun is currently admitted to a private hospital and the workers have been handed over to Saidapet police station.

Varun Maniyan who was engaged to Trisha is now all set to tie the knot with Kanikha Kumaran, who is the granddaughter of politician KP Kandasamy and daughter of KPK Kumaran. It is also reported that Kanikha used to head a fashion magazine. Kanikha is a divorcee who was earlier married to her long-term boyfriend for a few months.

A source close to the business tycoon said, “Varun and Kanikha have been dating for the last few months. Now, they have decided to get married in October. Their families have chosen to keep this a private affair and the preparations have already begun.”
