While the official announcement is yet to be made, it is speculated that Trisha is to play Kajal’s role in the movie. If this news is true, then this will be Trisha’s third collaboration with Kamal Haasan after Manmadhan Ambu and Thoongavanam, and her first collaboration with director Shankar. While we await official confirmation, Trisha is currently working on Mani Ratnam’s Magnum Opus, Ponniyin Selvan. 

Trisha came into the industry with Mounam Pesiyadhey back in 2002. SHe has been in Kollywood for almost 20 years now and has also acted in other language films. She has also given us a number of women-centric films where she is the protagonist. Apart from Ponniyin Selvan, she is also working on Ram, Garjanai, Sathuranga Vettai 2 and Raangi. 

Kajal has completed shooting for four films that she signed up for this year. She still has films like Acharya and Paris Paris for which she is still filming. The announcement regarding whether she will continue to play her part in Indian 2 or if she will be replaced by Trisha is yet to be made by the team. 

Indian 2 is the sequel of the hit film Indian, by Shankar released in 1996. The sequel stars Kamal Haasan in the lead along with Nedumudi Venu, Siddarth, Rakul Preet Singh and Vivekh.
