It has been confirmed that apart from the theatrical release, the film’s OTT Rights have been sold to Netflix.Reports claim that the distributor of the film, Seven Screen Studio’s Lalit Kumar, has sold the streaming rights to Netflix. Netflix offered a huge amount to buy the rights of the film and the makers couldn’t say no to the deal. However, it’s still unclear if the film will skip theatrical release and take the OTT way.
When IndiaToday.in contacted a source close to the production, they said, “It’s true that the streaming rights of Master have been sold to Netflix. However, the makers are yet to decide on the film’s release.”
The last Tamil film to have released on Prime was Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru after Keerthy Suresh’s Miss India before which Ponmagal Vandhal starring Jyothika, released. It was the first OTT release for a Tamil film on Prime after theatres shut.
