In one such interview, the Liger actor reacted to rumours on relationship with Rashmika Mandanna. A media house quoted as the actor saying, ” “Initially, when things spiralled out of control, Rashmika and I spoke about it because we were new in the industry and weren’t aware of all these things. But with time, we have become used to the all chatter and gossip about the speculations in our personal life. I never had to pick up a call and clarify anything (with Rashmika). Sometimes when we meet or something happens, we joke about it. It has never reached a point where I have to clarify something with anyone.”
He also added, “I am a public figure and people love you and want to know more about you and they are interested in your personal lives. There are businesses that run on feeding gossip. If they don’t get anything for that day, then I become the talking point and I am okay with it. I would rather be somebody and have these rumours written about me than be a nobody and have nothing written about me.”
Previously, during Sita Ramam promotions, Rashmika also gave a reply to these rumours. Rashmika opened up, “Sometimes, I am like ‘Arrey yaar, I am doing five films a year but you are still coming and asking me, ‘Who are you dating? What is your personal life?’ But I understand that we are actors and the light is on us, with people wanting to know more about you.”
After saying this she also added, “You (people) can talk s**t about us, you can say negative things about it. Because in the end, we are public figures. We can’t choose just the good bits, thinking people just focus on work and not personal life. So, they are free to talk about anything, just don’t come to a conclusion. Till the time you hear from me, that is not true”.
The speculations about Rashmika and Vijay dating have been making rounds ever since the release of Geetha Govindham. Recently, when Vijay and Ananya made their presence felt at Koffee With Karan, Ananya hinted that the two maybe dating each other. Rashmika was previously engaged to Rakshit Shetty and then they broke off the engagement. Rashmika entered the industry only after this.
Rashmika also addressed the statements made by co-stars on Koffee With Karan. “I find it very adorable. I have seen these episodes and conversations. I am like ‘aww’. At the same time, I feel it is just a conversation, and it is not like something which you should be married upon. It’s like ‘Okay, this is something that they’re having fun talking about, so go on’”. When asked why doesn’t she just confirm or denies it. “Well, I feel there is no point talking about it”.
Apart from Liger, Vijay is currently filming for Kushi and Jana Gana Mana. The actor is doing Kushi, directed by Shiva Nirvana, along with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He is doing Puri Jagannadh’s Jana Gana Mana, along with Pooja Hegde.
Rashmika is shooting for Animal with Ranbir Kapoor and Varisu with Vijay. She is also working on the sequel of Pushpa titled, Pushpa: The Rule. Mission Majnu will mark Rashmika’s Hindi debut, where she is co-starring with Siddarth Malhotra. Goodbye on the other hand is a comedy drama starring Amitabh Bachchan along with Rashmika. There is also a report that Rashmika is all set to co-star with Vicky Kaushal in an upcoming project.
