Confirming the news, Simran stated, “Andhadhun was a landmark film in Indian cinema and reached audiences in different regions. Playing Tabu’s role is a huge responsibility. It is a bold, yet challenging role. But I am looking forward to essaying the part in the Tamil remake. I want to see myself in this new avatar, and I’m quite excited. It’s a character that will be seen throughout the film. I am confident that this will be another feather in my hat.”
The film, directed by JJ Frederick of Ponmagal Vandhaal fame. Prashanth who will be seen reprising the role of Ayushmann Khurana from the original has been sincerely prepping for the role especially weight and piano classes.
After films like Jodi and Parthen Rasithen Simran and Prashanth will be seen together after a very long time. Talking about the chemistry, Simran said, “I am happy about working with Prashanth again. I am also looking forward to working with Fredrick, whose Ponmagal Vandhaal was fantastic. This remake, too, will be made in such a way that it suits the Tamil audiences. We will start our reading sessions soon, and are likely to begin shooting by early 2021.”
Andha Dhun is also being remade in Telugu.
It was earlier confirmed that that actor Nithiin will be seen sporting the role of Ayushmann Khurana from the film and now speculations of who would reprise Tabu’s role has been put to rest when actress Tamannaah Bhatia confirmed that she will now be sporting the role of the antagonist in the Telugu remake of AndhaDhun.
During a recent online media interaction, Tamannaah stated, “It’s an honour to play Tabu’s role. Unlike the Hindi version, I’m not playing a middle-aged woman in the Telugu version but otherwise, the essence of the original will be retained.” Meanwhile, Nabha Natesh will sport the role of Radhika Apte’s role in the film.
