Samantha, after the release of Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, is awaiting the release of Shaakuntalam. The film, directed by Gunasekhar, is a Telugu mythological film based on Kalidasa’s Shaakuntalam. The film also stars Dev Mohan, Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in titular roles. Previously, there were rumours that the release of the film was being delayed because of Samantha’s dissatisfaction with the final output. The makers then took to Twitter to clarify the same.The film is bankrolled by Neelima Guna, and she opened up about the rumours. Her note read, “This is to all the fans who’ve been tweeting asking for updates on Shakuntalam. The post-production work is going on at a brisk pace, the challenging CG complexities are being dealt with good precision as we prepare to give you a good quality product. Hence the time. At this crucial juncture, the team deserves your support and understanding, which I’m sure you will shower on us! We will put out more content and updates as and when we can. Thank you for your love.”

The last update from the team was the release date of the film. The makers had previosusly revealed that the project will be out in cinema halls on 4 November this year. Sharing the news, the makers Tweeted, “Witness the #EpicLoveStory #Shaakuntalam in Theatres from Nov 4th 2022 Worldwide!.” However, the film is planned to get bigger as it will be released in 3D. The makers shared that the new release date will be announced soon. The team will complete the 3D version of the film and will soon announce the new release date. The makers took to Twitter and released an official statement that read, “We aim to give a bigger experience with Shaakuntalam and immerse you in the World of Shaakuntalam, for which we as a team felt 3D would be a brilliant way. To facilitate this, we would be taking some time to put forth and so, will be unable to meet the earlier announced date of release. We thank the support and love showered upon us, from around the world, hoping for your support in this too! We will be announcing a new release date soon,” a source from the team revealed.

Samantha has been on a signing spree in recent times. Even while she awaits the release of Yashodha and Shaakunthalam, she is working on many other projects and is also signing a few more. For example, the actor is all set to make her Hollywood debut with ‘Arrangements of Love’ in which she is likely to play a queer woman. Recently, the teaser of her upcoming film Yashodha was released, and she was seen playing the role of a pregnant woman. In recent times, however, fans have noticed that this busy actress is not making much of an appearance on her social media.

Immediately, reports suggested that the actress had a skin condition and that she has been postponing her Kushi shoot in order to take treatment for the same. New reports also suggested that the actress is most likely to travel abroad for the treatment because of the health scare. However, Samantha’s team has now let out a clarification that these are just ‘baseless’ rumours. The manager said the star’s fine and added that all such rumours are not true. Her manager, Mahendra, has now broken his silence on the matter. While addressing concerns about her health, he said that Sam is fine and termed these reports as “just gossip. He, however, did not comment on the purpose behind her US trip.
