TRENDING: Ramya Krishnan opens up about her role in Baahubali!

Rajamatha Sivagami Devi!

Ramya Krishnan is busy promoting her upcoming Pan-Indian film Liger along with Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Pandey. She is to play Vijay’s mother in the film, which is one of the titular roles. The actor was last seen in Super Deluxe in Tamil in 2019, after which she hasn’t been seen in any other Tamil films. In Telugu, she was last seen in Bangarraju, which was released a while ago. Now, the actor has opened up about her role in Baahubali, in a recent interview with a media house.

During the interview, Ramya Krishna said, “I have been working more in South films so I rather speak about that. So, as far as the South is concerned, the growth is immense. I am proud to say that pan India happened because of a South Indian film (Baahubali) and it is exciting to be part of all these pan Indian films and that’s how it evolved…I don’t know, I am still in awe and I am still looking at it. While working for the film, nobody had any idea that you know this film is going to be or do what it did. So, we had no clue. We were just working on a normal Telugu film and considering it SS Rajamouli, he is one of the best filmmakers in the country so yeah that way it was big for us but as a film, we didn’t know that it’s going to be this big and it was just goosebumps after that”.

Ramya Krishnan is officially a part of Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The movie, which was previously titled Thalivar 169 is all set to start shooting on August 10th. Ramya said, “I start shooting for Jailer with Rajinikanth from tomorrow. I am very excited.”  This is a much-awaited pairing as the duo became super-hit after Padaiyappa in 1999. Apart from that film, the two have also acted in Baba and Padikkadhavan.

According to reports, the movie also features Aishwarya Rai and Shiva Rajkumar in key roles, though none of the actors have confirmed their involvement yet. The music is composed by Aniruddh with Vijay Kartik Kannan as the cinematographer. The film will be shot extensively at Ramoji Filmcity in Hyderabad and Rajini is said to be playing the titular role of a jailer. Much like other Nelson films, this one too is expected to be a quirky action thriller, though in an altogether unique space.
