Radikaa and Sarathkumar had been busy campaigning until before the elections. However, on the day of the elections a brand new case was filed against the couple. A one-year jail term by a special court here in a cheque bouncing case was imposed on them. The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 5 crores in connection with the case.

It had then been reported that the actress was tested COVID positive immediately after the imprisonment news came out. According to the recent update, Radikaa had been tested positive for COVID-19. Sarathkumar and Radikaa have filed an appeal seeking a stay of the sentence.

Radikaa and Sarathkumar have been campaigning actively across Tamil Nadu for the past few weeks. Earlier, Sarathkumar was diagnosed with coronavirus a month ago and he recovered.
