The after effects of a strict lockdown have been very strong. Several individuals have lost their jobs, their source of income and their livelihood has been uprooted. The film industry is no different. All the members of the technical and backend team, all the wage workers are struggling to run their family. What once fed them is now locked but fortunately, several actors, directors and producers have been contributing a lot of funds to keep their coworkers afloat.

Apart from that, the producers are also facing a major backlash and do not have the funds to pay actors and actresses with huge remunerations. Several stars have agreed to go on a pay cut for their upcoming films until everything returns to normal. The latest to join that list is Nayanthara, fondly known as the Lady Superstar by her fans.

According to reports, Nayanthara is taking a pay cut amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The actress is among many who has sacrificed to compensate producers’ losses due to lockdown. During an interview with TOI, Kunchacko was asked if he is also taking a pay cut, to this he replied, “For me, there’s only gain – to work during the pandemic and be part of such a good project, which also has a lot of great talents, including Theevandi director Fellini TP who is involved in its creative side.” He further added that he was the one who suggested Nayanthara’s name for the film. Apparently, the Mookuthi Amman actress immediately agreed to do the film.

Talking about the film, Kunchacko said, “It’s not a pandemic-oriented project but it’s a movie that can be shot in a controlled environment.”

 

The Malayalam film has been titled Nizhal and the first look of the poster was released on Facebook yesterday by actor Fahadh Faasil.

On the professional front, Nayanthara has Mookuthi Amman, Kaathuvaakkula Rendu Kadhal, Netri Kann and Annathae.
