It is to be noted that Meena played the lead role in both ‘Drishyam 2’ (Malayalam) and ‘Drushyam 2’ (Telugu). It is also to be noted that Kamal Haasan and Gautami were in a relationship when Papanasam was shot. However, they parted ways in 2016, and it is speculated that it is one of the reasons why Gautami will not be joining the sequel.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has been deeply involved in politics for the past 2 years. He was last seen on ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ after which he has only been involved in ‘Indian 2’ and ‘Vikram’. The shooting for Vikram had started but has come to a halt due to the current Covid situation. Meena on the other hand was last seen on Drishyam 2. She is currently working along with Rajinikanth on Annaatthe in which she will be playing the leading lady.
