In the year 2011, Karthi announced that he is all set to marry a gold medalist in English Literature – Ranjani. “Actually, my mother has been looking out for a girl for a long time now. Arranged marriage did sound like a scary option, but when I met Ranjani and spoke to her for over an hour, I was convinced that she was the one for me,” he further added, “I’m very happy.” Ranjani’s parents hail from Erode.

The couple was then blessed with a baby girl named Umayaal who was born in 2013. Karthi later on shared yet another happy news with his fans. He confirmed that the couple has now been blessed with a baby boy. He took to social media to confirm the news. “Dear friends and family, we are blessed with a boy baby. We can’t thank enough our doctors and nurses who took us through this life changing experience. need all your blessings for the little one. Thank you god!” Wrote Karthi on his social media.

The actor has now gone ahead and announced the name of his son as Kandhan and went on to pen down a beautiful message in Tamil along with a picture. “Dear.. Mom, sister, and I are very lovingly naming you Kandan. May our family be sweeter with your arrival. Sincerely… Dad,” wrote the actor.

On the professional front, Karthi was last seen in the superhit film Kaidhi directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He will next be seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan and Sultan which will mark Rashmika Mandanna’s debut into Kollywood.
