After Rajini took a decision to not enter politics a number of his followers were disappointed. In a reaction to his announcement his fans yesterday took to Valluvar Kottam for a protest holding boards and signage that read “Now or Never”. Many of his fans also stated that they will not be voting in the coming elections if Rajinikanth does not participate. Fans held an agitation, in Valluvar Kottam, Chennai, and many also stated they will not vote in the upcoming election if Rajinikanth does not start his own party.

A day after the protest, Rajinikanth has released a statement saying that his decision will not change and that people should stop forcing him to enter politics. His statement translates, “My heartfelt thanks to those who did not participate in the protest, in line with the leadership request. I have already elaborated on the reasons as to why I am not entering politics now. I have announced my decision. I humbly request you all to not conduct such events and force me to enter politics and cause me pain.”

Last month  Rajinikanth was shooting for Annathae in Hyderabad. In the location, four of them including the actor’s makeup artist were tested positive for COVID after which the shooting was immediately stalled. Rajinikanth was then tested negative and showed no symptoms until this morning when the actor felt exhaustion as a result of which he had a fluctuation in blood pressure.


Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad has released an official statement confirming the news and has updated on Rajini’s health. “Mr. Rajnikanth has been admitted in the hospital today in the morning. He was shooting for a movie in Hyderabad since the last 10 days. A couple of people on the sets tested positive for Covid-19. Mr. Rajnikanth was tested on December 22 for Covid-19 and he was negative. Since then, he isolated himself and was monitored closely. Though he did not have any symptoms of Covid-19, his Blood Pressure showed severe fluctuations and needed further evaluation for which he has been admitted to the hospital. He will be investigated and monitored closely in the hospital till his blood pressure settles down before being discharged. Apart from fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion he does not have any other symptoms and is hemodynamically stable,” read the statement.

The actor said that he saw his health as a sign from god and made a statement that he will not be joining politics.
