Actress Divya Bharathi has become famous in the Kollywood space after her debut with G V Prakash’s Bachelor directed by Sathish Selvakumar. While the movie was not a big hit, the actress became a well-known face and gained a lot of popularity. While Divyabharathi is also awaiting the release of her Madhil Mel Kadhal with Harish Kalyan, she has now signed up for a romantic thriller along with Vikram Vedha fame Kathir.

This romantic thriller is the remake of the Malayalam film ‘Ishq’ directed by Anuraj Manohar. While Kathir and Divya Bharathi are acting as the leads of the film, the team has now managed to get the title ‘Aasai’ which was Ajith’s superhit film that came back in 1995. Actress Keerthy Suresh released the first look poster and title of the film today on the occasion of Kathir’s birthday. The poster features the lead pair Kathir & Divya Bharathi just about to kiss each other. The film also has actresses Poorna and Linga in important roles. The technical team includes music by Revaa, cinematography by Babu Kumar and editing by Sudharsan.

Ishq in Malayalam originally starred Shane Nigam and Ann Sheetal in lead roles. The movie was remade in Telugu with the same title, but the remake did not really make an impact. Now, the makers have decided to go for a Tamil remake of the film. Kathir was last seen in the web series Suzhal directed by Pushkar and Gayatri’s team.
