Looks like two films are going to clash at the concluding weekend of September. While Ponniyin Selvan is already going to release on September 30th. Now, the Naane Varuvean team has revealed that this film is all set to release on September 29th, Thursday. Both films are most likely to clash for box office numbers right at the end of September. This film is all set to be bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his banner V Creations. This is Dhanush’s 44th film and was originally titled D44 before the official title of the film was unveiled. Yuvan Shankar Raaja will be composing the music for the film. It is being reported that Dhanush himself wrote the story for this film.
Naane Varuvean is officially Dhanush’s 5th film with his brother Selvaraghavan. Dhanush was introduced into the film industry by his brother Selvaraghavan in Thulluvadho Ilamai. He then did Kadhal Konden as his second film, along with Selvaraghavan which spelt success and fame for the actor. Dhanush has also done Pudhupettai and Mayakam Enna along with his brother, marking the fifth film of the duo. Om Prakash and Prasanna GK were announced to be cinematographer and editor of the film respectively marking the former’s fifth collaboration with Dhanush after Maari, Anegan, Maari 2 and Pattas and the latter’s sixth collaboration with Dhanush after Maari, Pa Paandi, Velaiilla Pattadhari 2, Maari 2, and Maaran. Dhanush is meanwhile also working on Venky Atluri’s Vaathi, which is being simultaneously shot as Sir in Telugu. He is shooting for Arun Matheswaran’s Captain Miller which also stars Priyanka Mohan and Sundeep Kishan.
