The couple got married on 18 November 2004. They have two sons named Yatra and Linga. The couple even worked together in Aishwaryaa’s directorial debut ‘3’ which featured a world-hit song ‘Kolaveri Di’. She has even directed movies like Vai Raja Vai and a documentary movie named Cinema Veeran. She is also one of the singers of the hit song Un Mela Aasadhan from the movie Aayirathil Oruvan and dubbed Reema Sen in the same movie.
Dhanush then called Aishwarya ‘a friend’ on Twitter, on another occasion. Recently, both Aishwarya and Dhanush were seen together in a photograph along with their sons Yatra and Linga. Yatra became the sports captain of his school, and his parents were there to celebrate the happy occasion. Now reports suggest that the two have decided to call off their separation. Earlier there were reports that Actor Rajinikanth was really trying to smoothen the situation and paly things between the couple. Now, if speculations are to be believed, the couple themselves has decided to stall their divorce. However, we still await an official confirmation from Dhanush or Aishwaryaa.
While there is no official confirmation regarding the reason for their separation, many speculate that rumours of Dhanush’s previous link ups may be the reason. For example, when Aishwaryaa directed the movie ‘3’ and cast Shruti alongside Dhanush, there were rumours that the two were involved romantically. In fact, when the movie released back in 2012, some reports even said that their marriage was in a loop because of Dhanush’s alleged extramarital relationship with Shruti Haasan. However, these rumours rested after both Shruti Haasan and Aishwaryaa dismissed them.
When Amala Paul divorced her ex-Husband AL Vijay in 2016, many rumours said that Dhanush had a major role to play in it. While an affair or a link up was not directly spelled out, AL Alagappan, father of AL Vijay, said that the two divorced because of her taking up ‘Amma Kannakku’, a film produced by Dhanush, although she promised to quit acting after marriage. Amala Paul acted with Dhanush in Velayilla Pattadhari in 2014, the same year she tied the knot with AL Vijay. Amma Kanakku came out in 2016, the year they announced their separation. So, many rumours came up linking the coincidences.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Dhanush will next headline director Venky Atluri’s bilingual drama Vaathi. The project is set to release on 2nd December this year. The versatile star will play a teacher in the movie. In addition to this, he will also play the protagonist in Arun Matheswaran’s upcoming drama, Captain Miller. Billed as an action-adventure film, the venture will be set against the backdrop of 1930 India.
