Legalities explained!

On last Sunday, Vignesh Shivan took the Internet by storm when he announced that Nayanthara and him have become parents to twin boys. “Nayan & Me have become Amma & Appa ❤️We are blessed with Twin Baby Boys❤️❤️ All Our prayers, our ancestors’ blessings combined wit all the good manifestations made, have come 2gethr in the form Of 2 blessed babies for us❤️😇 Need all ur blessings for our Uyir😇 & Ulagam😇 Life looks brighter & more beautiful 😍God is double great 🥰❤️☺️😇😍😍😌😌😌😌,” he shared on Instagram.

As soon as he made the announcement, many speculated and reported that the couple should have gone through surrogacy for the birth of their twins. However, the couple did not explicitly announce that they went for surrogacy. It is an assumption as Nayanthara was not seen to be pregnant anytime recently. It is to be noted that it has been only four months since the two got married. The couple tied the knot on June 9th, 2022.

The Health Minister, Ma Subramanian announced that he set up a committee to investigate into the matter of surrogacy as it is illegal to go through surrogacy within 4 months of marriage. The Tamil Nadu government has formed a 3-member committee to investigate whether Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan violated the surrogacy rules.

In this case, Nayanthara and Vignesh Sivan reportedly have submitted some evidence to the committee, and the couple has submitted the documents of registered marriage 6 years ago. So, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have opted for surrogacy as they have opted for surrogacy only after six years of marriage according to the laws. Soon the couple will come out of controversies as the problem comes to an end.

In addition, this Surrogacy law came out only in January 2022. The government has also given a buffer of 6 months for those who opted for surrogacy just before the law was brought into action. So, in that manner also, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are safe, as they have followed all legal regulations before opting for surrogacy.
