We are absolutely excited to watch our Kollywood Queen Jyothika on-screen yet again in a female-led movie. Jyothika is all set for her next release,’Magalir Mattum’ and is going all out to promote the movie. Right from her new look to a kick ass teaser, she’s making news for all good reasons. The movie ‘Magalir Mattum’ will be produced by none other than Suriya Sivakumar and his production house ‘2D entertainment’.
The director of the movie Bramma has given us another update and that is, the movie is based on a true story. Jyothika will be playing the role of a documentary filmmaker Padmavati. Actors like Nasser, Saranya Ponnvannan, Bhanupriya, and Urvasi will have pivotal roles to play.
Another exciting news is Jyothika has given her own voice for her role this movie. The last time she dubbed in her own voice was ‘Maayavi’ alongside Suriya Sivakumar. Ghibran will be scoring the music for the movie and a grand audio launch happened recently. However, what won hearts was the absolutely amazing speech Jyothika gave during the audio launch.

“I must thank the men in my family as women are always supportive. My tiring day turns out to be enthusiastic when he shows a thumbs up,” Jyothika said in her upcoming movie’s audio launch. “I play the role of Prabhavathi, a documentary filmmaker. In an era where directors portray older heroes to look younger and younger heroines to look older, Bramma is that director who chose an older heroine for a much younger role and I applaud him for that.”
“Directors who direct big hero films, give women in your movie some dignity, respect them. We are socially responsible and cinema has a big impact on youth. So, when you mentally shape characters for women in your big budget films, don’t create a double meaning message-based introduction and cheap introductions. They are worth more than that.”
“Stalking and having four heroines for a hero will make some of them, who take cinema seriously, realize that having four girlfriends and stalking them is absolutely okay. So be socially responsible and treat women with dignity.”
