Hailing from Palakkad, Trisha completed her College education in Chennai, but she ventured into modelling during her school days itself. Her initial venture into modelling resulted in her appearing in many print and television commercials. In 1999 she won the ‘Miss Salem’ Beauty pageant followed by the ‘Miss Chennai’ pageant. In 2001, she won the ‘Miss India’ pageant’s Beautiful Smile award.
During her initial modelling days, she appeared for an interview with Yugi Sethu. In the interview, she first sings a song and then tells Yugi that she is still a school student in Chennai. Yugi then goes on to ask her if modelling was her own interest or if she was asked by her parents to go for it. After telling him that she came to the field on her own interest, she reiterates that acting is however not her interest.
When Yugi asks if he can see her on the big screen soon she says, “No no, not at all. Acting is not my cup of tea, I prefer modelling.” However, immediately after this, in 1999 she debuted into the film industry with Jodi, as Simran’s friend. 20 years on, Trisha has acted in almost 60 films across languages like Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.
