Illayathalapathy Vijay’s latest outing ‘Theri’ has become one of the fastest movies to join the elite 100 crore club in the country! Theri had made 85 crores during the weekend it released and crossed the 100 crore mark on April 20th. Theri was released on the occasion of Tamil New Year (April 14th) in 31 countries and was screened in more than thousand screens. The movie has done very good business overseas and has made an enormous collection. This is not the first Vijay movie to make it to the 100 crore club, his earlier movies, ‘Thuppakki’ in 2012 and ‘Kaththi’ in 2013 too made more than 100 crores.
What’s more interesting is the leading ladies of the movie, Amy Jackson and Samantha are the only two South Indian heroines to have crossed the 100 crore mark twice! Amy Jackson’s ‘I’ had crossed 100 crores as well as Samatha’s ‘Kaththi.’ Amy posted this picture on her Twitter page saying, ‘Hell yeah Sam!! Way to go girl.’
