Priyanka Chopra is all set to produce a Bengali-Marathi movie, Nalini, on the beautiful love story of Rabindranath Tagore. It will be a period-romance film about the romance of Tagore when he was a teenager.
In 1878 Tagore used to stay with his mentor, Dr. Atmaram Pandurang Turkhud and eventually fell in love with his 20 year-old daughter Annapurna. However he couldn’t stay with her for long and had to leave to England.
Purple Pebble Pictures (PPP) is Piyanka Chopra’s production house and so far it has already produced three movies in three different languages. Nalini is to be directed by Ujjawal Chatterjee and will mostly go on floors by October. Priyanka Chopra has already produced Ujjawal’s movie, Ventilator, which won a National Award. It will be great to watch them strike magic on the screens again with the story of Rabindranath Tagore.
