Based on an appeal by Shanthi Thiagarajan (Actor Prashanth’s mother), the High court will decide if Studio Green’s Suriya starrer Thaana Serndha Kootam is to be stalled ahead of its Pongal release date. This comes after a single judge of Madras High court had initially refused to stall the movie when Shanthi had filed a case requesting to do so. Staar Movies a banner of Shanthi owns the remake rights to Special 26 which is now Thaana Serndha Kootam. According to Shanthi, the Akshay Kumar starrer Special 26 that had come out in 2013 was signed onto Staar Movies and Viacom 18 for remakes in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. She alleges that Studio Green does not have the rights to release the same and this just 2 days before release. Let’s see what is in fate for Suriya!
