Soon enough, a user on Twitter policed her for dancing considering she’s a mother.
Is it right to do a item dance after being a responsible mother???

Kasthuri, clearly incensed with the comment, responded to it alluding to the fact that certain mindset should be changed. She also brought out the misogyny in such comments, something that a male actor would never be asked.
This is the typical “Tamil” mindset that I am hellbent on changing. That looking sexy is opposite of brainy, or motherly , or virtuous.
Do we ever ask a male actor why he acts in drinking scenes/ dances in sexy songs / romance sequences after having kids ?

The actress has never shied away from speaking her mind. In 2015, she posed for American photographerĀ Jade Beall soon after giving birth to her son. The series of photographs show Kasturi cuddling and breast-feeding her baby. The aim of the shoot was to glorify the body of a mother, but, instead, it ended up being interpreted differently by the Indian media.
The actress, in Tamizh Padam 2, will be dancing again, something which she had done in the first film. She featured in a special dance number in the original 2010 film for the song ‘Kuthu Vilakku’ that became really popular. The parody film is directed by CS Amudhan and features ‘Mirchi’ Shiva in the lead.
