The most anticipated Suriya’s 40 directed by Pandiyaraj will be a rural drama which is the go-to genre of director Pandiraj. After consecutive successes like Kadaikutty Singam and Namma Veetu Pillai, the directed has once again opted for the village subject. The film which is tentatively called Suriya 40 will feature Suriya and Priyanka Mohan in the lead roles. Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash and Ilavarasu will be seen in character roles. D Imman has been roped in for music and the film is produced by Sun pictures.

While the shooting of the film started in February this year, it got stalled due to the current pandemic situation. Recently, the director interacted with his fans on twitter and he assured that the film will be a visual treat for Suriya’s fans.

“Just like how Karthi sir’s fans enjoyed Kadaikutty Singam, Suriya sir’s fans will enjoy my next. We have been taking extra care to make sure that each scene in the film comes out well. So far, we are happy with the progress.” he said.

Suriya was last seen in Soorarai Pottru, which became a huge hit among his fans. The film was based on the life of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath and was directed by Sudha Kongara.
