Know more..

The entire Soorarai Pottru team just returned back from Delhi with their hands full with National Awards. While Suriya and Aparna won Best Actor and Actress respectively, the film also won Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Music. While Sudha Kongara is back on sets working on the Hindi remake of this national award-winning film, there’s a buzz in K’Town that the two may come together for yet another film.

Earlier there were speculations that the two may do another film together. Now, reports suggest that the next movie could be a gangster action drama.  It was earlier reported that it will be a film based on real incidents, just like Soorarai Pottru. As per the sources, the shoot is expected to commence in the Summer of 2023. Suriya will most likely shoot for director Vetrimaaran’s ‘Vaadivasal’ and Sudha Kongara’s film simultaneously.

On the work front, Suriya is currently working on ‘Suriya 42’ directed by Siruthai Siva. The makers were filming an action sequence in Goa with 200+ stunt artists and this schedule was planned for 40-45 days. Kovai Sarala and Yogi Babu started shooting for their portions a while ago, while Redin Kingsley, Anand Raj and Ravi Raghavendra are also part of the cast. Devi Sri Prasad composes the music while Vetri cranks the camera. Adi Narayana co-writes the movie with dialogues penned by Madhan Karky. UV Creations and Studio Green are producing the magnum opus to be made in two parts and 3D technology to release the film in 10 languages.

He is also filming for Director Bala’s Vanangaan. The film marks Suriya and Bala’s third collaboration after ‘Nandha’ and ‘Pithamagan’. Krithi Shetty is playing the leading lady along with Suriya in the film. Speaking about  actor Suriya, she shared, “Before the film started when the announcement came out, everyone said all the good things about Suriya sir. I was like ok, even I know because I have seen his films and admired him from such a long time. So I don’t know if I will be able to say that. I know he is a very dedicated artist, but when I saw him, it was like, he surpassed what everyone else told. Like how nice he is, what gentleman he is and what a dedicated and fine actor he is.”
