Director Shankar has been in the news ever since he met Actor Ranveer Singh and held a meeting with him. Their names have been hitting the headline for quite some time now, and many have speculated that Ranveer Singh will be headlining one of Shankar’s big-budget projects. Previously, in an interview, Director Karthik Subbaraj revealed that Shankar is looking to make a film out of writer Su Venkatesan’s Tamil novel titled Velpari. “Velpari will be made in three parts with a budget of one thousand crore rupees. Shankar conveyed his plan to direct the Velpari novel when he asked me to write the screenplay for RC15,” he was quoted saying in an interview.

As soon as Karthik revealed this, K’Town was buzzing with reports that either KGF fame Yash or Jai Bhim actor Suriya would most likely play the lead in the project. Now, reports reveal that all three actors may share screen space in this multi-crore project. Shankar is known for his grand method of filmmaking. This particular project is expected to be worth 1000 crores. So, Shankar is expected to collaborate with two or three big Producers to bankroll the project. The novel Velpari is based on the great Tribal king Pari, and the story is about his journey and adventures. Looks like Shankar is also most likely to go with the trend of making period dramas.

The film is reportedly going to be made in 3 parts and released in multiple languages. Although these reports seem exciting, we still await official confirmation. Shankar is currently working on Ram Charan’s 15th film titled ‘RC15’ temporarily. He is also simultaneously working on Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2. If reports are true, the rumoured project will go on floors once Shankar completes these projects. Ranveer Singh, on the work front, was last seen in Jayeshbai Jordaar. He is currently filming for a Hindi film titled ‘Cirkus’ starring alongside Pooja Hegde, Varun Sharma and Jacqueline Fernandez. He has completed filming for another movie titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

Suriya, on the other hand, is working on his 42nd film, directed by Siruthai Siva. He is also filming for Vanangaan directed by Bala and is expected to do a cameo in Sudha Kongara’s Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru. Yash, who was last seen in KGF 2, is currently not working on any other projects.
