It has a few combination stills of both Rajinikanth and Trisha. The latter clad in a traditional attire was getting rave reviews for her looks in the film. The on-screen chemistry between the two has appealed fans who just could not stop raving about it.
Sources say that the movie speaks loud against honour killing. And the scenes involving Rajinikanth and Trisha speak the same. Trisha confirmed that she appears in flashback portions and her role is brief.
Produced by Sun Pictures and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Petta also has Simran, Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Megha Akash, Sasikumar and Sanath in the cast.
At the audio launch of Petta, Karthik Subbaraj, said, ‘Petta is made by fans of Rajinikanth. We put in a lot of thought in filming every single shot of Rajinikanth. Vijay Sethupathi is also a big Rajinikanth fan. He told me that one day I will direct Rajinikanth in a film. And when it happens, he will play the villain in the project. It was another dream come true moment to work with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He is also a Rajini fan.’
Plans are on to release the movie in January. Says Trisha, ‘It was a pleasure to be part of a Rajini film. He is such a simple and down-to-earth person. Learnt a lot working with him’.
Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the main antagonist in the movie. And the movie’s album features tracks like ‘Marana Mass’, ‘Ullaallaa’, ‘Ilamai Thirumbudhe’, ‘Madura Petta’, ‘Petta Paraak’, ‘Singaar Singh’, ‘Aaha Kalyanam’, ‘Jithu Theme’, ‘Petta Theme’, ‘Kaali Theme’ and ‘Thappad Maara’.
