The movie is reportedly banned in Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf countries. Rashmika Mandanna, is the narattor and she plays the character ‘Afreen’. It is speculated that the film is banned maybe because they believe that it may hurt religious sentiments. However, the official reason is yet to be known.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the makers have applied for a re-censoring of the film. The move is expected to be a huge blow as the Gulf countries are a huge market for Dulquer Salmaan’s films. His last movie Kurup also was a great hit in the gulf countries. This movie is bankrolled by Swapna Cinemas, and also stars, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj and Bhumika in titular roles.
Apart from this, Dulquer is currently working on Chup: The Revenge of The Artist, which will mark his third film in Hindi. He is also awaiting the release of a show called Guns and Gulaabs, which he signed with Netflix India. Sita Ramam marks Mrunal Thakur’s official Telugu debut. Before this, she has starred in films like Jersey (Hindi), Dhamaka, and Toofan. She is currently working on Aankh Micholi, Gumraah, and is awaiting the release of Pippa and Pooja Meri Jaan.
Rashmika is shooting for Animal with Ranbir Kapoor and Varisu with Vijay. She is also working on the sequel of Pushpa titled, Pushpa: The Rule. Mission Majnu will mark Rashmika’s Hindi debut, where she is co-starring with Siddarth Malhotra. Goodbye on the other hand is a comedy drama starring Amitabh Bachchan along with Rashmika. There is also a report that Rashmika is all set to co-star with Vicky Kaushal in an upcoming project.
