The entire trailer points to a dark suspense thriller, similar to what Naren’s first film. While we are mostly used to Shriya looking glamorous and pretty in every movie, in Naragasooran, her acting and her character are more on focus than just her looks. In love with Arvind Swami’s Dhruv, she has a few words to say but there’s an enigmatic aura to her.
The other female lead, Aathmika, is also seen looking serious and alarmed most of the time. The male leads, Sundeep Kishan and Indrajit Sukumaran, contribute further to this dark thriller. A visual treat, shot in the locales of Ooty, the trailer is backed by a terrific musical score by Ron Ethan Yohann.
The film faced a setback when Naren and filmmaker Gautham Menon had a public tiff. The team faced funding issues pertaining to the film when it was bankrolled by Menon’s Ondraaga Entertainment. Sources in the industry also claimed that there have been many instances where Gautham Menon has withheld payment or simply delayed them, and Naren’s complaint is not a one-off case. Thus far, Menon’s name appears to have been removed with the project now being produced by Badri Kasturi and bankrolled by Shraddha Entertainment.
