Music composer Anirudh Ravichander is now the man many producers in Tamil and Telugu film industry go to. This young musician is riding high on the success of his recently-released album Petta starring Rajinikanth. The tracks are still trending in social media and have become the tunes in everyone’s mobile phones.

Now he will be adding another feather to his cap. Anirudh has been roped in to compose the tunes for Indian 2.
The composer recently spoke about this in an interview, where he said, “After Petta, I will be composing the tunes for Indian 2 and another Telugu flick.”

This comes as surprise for many as there were several rumours suggesting that the Mozart of Madras, A R Rahman would be composing the tunes for Indian 2. Anirudh also mentioned that apart from Indian 2 and a Telugu flick he will also be composing the tracks for two or three other projects in this year.

Indian 2 will be directed by Shankar, who still enjoying the success of his latest movie 2.0 that featured Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in lead roles. Actor-producer Kamal Hassan will be playing the male lead. Sources say Indian 2 will deal with the current political scenario and will be a launchpad for Kamal’s political journey.

Meanwhile, actress Kajal Aggarwal is to play the female lead in Indian 2. She said, “I am doing a film with Sai (Bellamkonda Sreenivas). I am also acting in Kamal sir’s film Indian 2. I am looking forward to working in both the films.”

It may be recalled that Indian, which was released in 1996, had Kamal playing dual roles – Senapathy, a freedom fighter and his corrupt son Chandru. The sequel is expected to have more drama and action. Shankar is said to be fine-tuning the script which will be produced by Lyca Productions. Seems like Akshay Kumar or Ajay Devgn may be roped in to play the antagonist. The movie is expected to hit the floors on 14 December.
